Arktisk Stillerom er et åpent og inkluderende sted – skapt for stillhet, ettertanke, kjærlighet og fred. Her kan enkeltpersoner og små grupper samles for ulike aktiviteter i tråd med rommets formål. Vi ønsker å inspirere til bruk som berører både det ytre landskapet og det indre livet. Rommet er åpent for alle, uavhengig av tro eller bakgrunn. Alle arrangement må være stille, respektfulle og i tråd med rommets intensjon.

Ingrid’s vision
Ingrid Røstad Andresen created the Arctic Room of Silence in Vardø as a place for peace, reconciliation, and reflection. She wanted to bring people from all over the world together in silence and inner peace. The room is her legacy and a symbol of unity and peace. Even after her passing in 2019, her vision lives on through the 771 Association. Visit the Room of Silence and be inspired by Ingrid’s life and vision.

Ingrid Røstad Andresen skapte Arktisk Stillerom i Vardø som et sted for fred, forsoning og refleksjon. Hun ønsket å samle mennesker fra hele verden i stillhet og indre ro. Bodvar Schjelderup
Architecture professor and pyramid researcher
Bodvar Schjelderup, together with Ingrid, created the small lantern at Skagen and the Arctic Room of Silence. His vision was to build a different kind of house – a homely space for silence, meditation, and reflection, open to all. Bodvar was deeply engaged in the idea of pilgrimage, inner listening, and the wordless language of architecture. He sought to give silence form through space and geometry. His thoughts and creations live on as symbolic places for presence and contemplation.

Arkitekturprofessor og pyramideforsker Bodvar Schjelderup skapte sammen med Ingrid det lille lanternet på Skagen og Arktisk Stillerom. Hans visjon var å bygge et annerledes hus – et hjemlig sted for stillhet, meditasjon og refleksjon, åpent for alle. Bodvar var opptatt av pilegrimsvandring, indre lytting og det ordløse språket i arkitektur. Han søkte å gi stillheten form gjennom rom og geometri. Hans tanker og byggverk lever videre som symbolske steder for tilstedeværelse og ettertanke.
